What every version has in common
These trips involve substantial travel time. The full-day itinerary of the first tour lists 80 minutes to Régua and 95 minutes for the final return leg, plus transfers within the valley. Other itineraries differ; do not treat those driving times as a guarantee.
The first tour’s itinerary follows the N222 and includes vineyard scenery and viewpoints.
The cruises differ: the first tour’s full-day option has one hour in the valley, the two-wine-regions tour cruises from Folgosa, and the boat-and-train day uses the Pinhão–Tua area. The full-day route includes Régua, a winemaking cooperative, lunch, a one-hour cruise and another wine cellar or wine shop. The listing gives 7–10 hours, depending on option. Hotel pickup is optional, with the time and location confirmed for that booking; otherwise use the selected meeting point and arrive 15 minutes early.
Group size also depends on the option: the page lists a standard group of up to 55, a small group of up to eight and a private group of up to 21. It also warns that group sizes may increase and tours may be bilingual. Guides are offered in English, French and Portuguese. Children under six, people with mobility impairments, wheelchair users and visually impaired people are excluded.
Choose the group option as carefully as the itinerary; the starting price alone does not establish the atmosphere of the day.

Form two: the day centred on wine
The distinction is the wine programme. Check the actual group option; the two-wine-regions itinerary itself describes bus/coach transfers.
At €80 per person, the two-wine-regions day is listed as 9–10 hours, with ten wine tastings, WSET-qualified guides and a Vintage Port opened with fire by a sommelier. The included meal is lunch, brunch or dinner according to the selected option. A one-hour private boat cruise with drinks is included. The meeting point is Teatro Sá da Bandeira, Rua de Sá da Bandeira 108; hotel pickup and additional meals and drinks are excluded.
The two-wine-regions tour is guided in English and excludes children under ten and wheelchair users. Vegetarian and gluten-free meal options are available. Its rating is 4.8 from 9,565 reviews; a score alone does not tell you the size of your vehicle.
Choose this format for the named tastings and wine expertise. Lunch and a cruise are also included in the full-day option of the first tour, so neither is an exclusive reason to pay for this one.

Form three: the day built around the transport
The third format treats getting there as the point.
The boat, train and lunch day starts at €122.50 per person, with 4.7 from 2,042 reviews. Its itinerary lists a 75-minute van leg, a 90-minute boat trip, two hours for lunch at Tua, 30 minutes by train and a winery visit. The page also describes shorter boat sections elsewhere, so confirm the sequence and cruise length for your date; the advertised total is seven hours. The Régua-to-Porto cruise, from €72 per person, advertises ten hours overall, with two hours by coach to Régua and six hours cruising downstream with lunch on board.
The Régua-to-Porto cruise passes the Carrapatelo and Crestuma-Lever dams. Availability depends on weather and sailing conditions, and timings can change with dam schedules. It lists groups of up to 100 and hosts in English, Portuguese, French and Spanish. The meeting point depends on the option; hotel drop-off is excluded.
If the train is the part that appeals, consider independent travel on the Douro line. From 3 November 2026 to 24 March 2027, works interrupt the line between Marco de Canaveses and Régua, with replacement buses; plan around the temporary timetable.
